The crown jewel of the national park, the vast majority of visitors spend the bulk of their time in Yosemite Valley. Home to icons such as El Capitan, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, and nearby Glacier Point, the Valley has gained immense popularity for good reason. Summer brings substantial crowds, and lodging is extremely competitive due to high demand and limited supply. If wanting to base yourself in the Valley (as most do), your best bet is to book as far in advance as possible. Campsites typically sell out within minutes of being released, and lodges in Yosemite are often booked a year ahead of time during high season.
The largest lodging facility in Yosemite Valley, Curry Village (formerly Half Dome Village) offers motel rooms, traditional cabins, and canvas camping cabins with plenty of dining options. This spot is central, affordable, and sells out quickly, so book 10 to 12 months in advance if possible.
In Yosemite Mariposa County, you can choose a spacious resort-style lodging with multiple pools, hot tubs, and plenty of onsite activities including restaurants and a full-service spa at Tenaya at Yosemite. Or you can opt for simplicity with the clean comfort of a nine-room owner-operated property like River Rock Inn, located close to a rich selection of shops and restaurants in downtown Mariposa.
Plunge into a whole new world of fun in the woods with our salt water pool, hot tub and pool bar. Try stargazing from the hot tub to elevate your Yosemite lodging experience to even greater heights.Read More
While Yosemite West is comprised of numerous residences and resorts today, this area really did not become a real estate hot spot until 1967. Hundreds of years before 1967, Yosemite West was occupied by North American Indian tribes. These tribes literally lived off the land through hunting and fishing. In fact, their influence is still present. If you look hard enough while lodging in Yosemite West, you may discover an obsidian chip - which is technically an Indian arrowhead. There is no doubt that Yosemite West is beyond majestic. This jewel of Yosemite combines history with amazing scenery. Additionally, this private community is close to several popular tourist destinations, including: Half Dome, Yosemite Falls, Badger Pass, Mariposa Grove (home of the Giant Sequoias) and countless hiking trails. There is no shortage of sights to see or things to do in Yosemite West, which is why many vacationers choose to stay inside of this convenient community.

\"Your lodging in Foresta at Yosemite was WONDERFUL! We had such a delightful time; the park is incredible (it was our first visit), but it was so nice to come home to a comfortable house at the end of the day, sit out on the back deck, look at a sky FULL of stars, and sip wine. Living in a city, I rarely get to see the stars like that. The bed in the down stairs bedroom is also very comfortable - I slept well! Thanks for providing an alternative to the Yosemite Valley hotels.\"
